5 ways to care for your skin this spring

Despite the recent cold snap, spring is just around the corner, and with a new season comes a new skincare regime. Factors such as temperature, UV rays, nutrients and even environmental stressors like central heating and pollution can vary from season to season, so it’s important that we adapt our skincare routines accordingly.
Here are 5 tips to ensure glowing skin this spring:
Exfoliate
The combination of cold winter air and harsh central heating can leave our skin feeling dehydrated and looking dull. Slough off those dead skin cells using a natural exfoliator such as golden bamboo powder or brown sugar and honey once or twice weekly to reveal the new skin cells underneath.
For a deeply nourishing treatment, apply 1-2 drops of pure rosehip seed oil to cleansed skin underneath your daily moisturiser to promote healthy cell regeneration and to achieve that radiant springtime glow.
Moisturise
As the days get warmer and central heating becomes a thing of the past, you may want to swap out your thicker creams for something lighter.
Facial oils are often lightweight and can be worn alone or underneath a moisturiser. Choose blends containing essential oils such as lavender and geranium for a refreshing, uplifting scent and restorative properties. Facial oils can help to restore radiance, provide nourishment and protect against environmental stressors.
Lighten up (literally)
Wave your heavy foundation and eye makeup looks goodbye! Although dramatic makeup can be fun, it’s better suited to the festive period. Spring is a time to embrace dewy, natural-looking skin and pretty, delicate makeup looks.
Why not switch out your matte, full-coverage foundation and powder for a CC cream or tinted moisturiser? Not only will they give you that healthy summer glow, they’ll also allow your skin to breathe.
Out with the old, in with the new
We all check the things in our fridge for ‘best before’ dates, but did you know that your makeup and skincare products have them too? Look for a jar icon, which should tell you how many months you can use the products for after opening before you have to throw it out (e.g. ‘6M’ means 6 months).
Out-of-date products can harbour bacteria which may cause irritation, breakouts or other skin issues - so make sure you have a good spring clean!
Feed your skin from within
Taking a natural daily supplement is an easy way to maintain beautiful, healthy skin from the inside out. Rosehip Seed Oil Capsules are filled with Omega 3 and 6, Vitamin C and E plus beta-carotene, which promote skin health and rejuvenation.
Drinking lots of water each day is also a must, as it helps to flush out toxins, bringing you closer to clear, glowing skin. Try using a bottle with time markings on to make sure you’re always getting the recommended daily amount of water.
