Body brushing: the benefits

Here at Rio Rosa Mosqueta, we love to use body brushes. They’re a great addition to any skincare routine and are a simple way to keep your skin in good condition.

Using a body brush will help to stimulate your circulation and lymphatic system, which helps to eliminate toxins from your body. Toxins enter your body in a number of different ways, often through food, drink and formulated products. Toxins are impurities in your body, so it’s important to get rid of them to revitalise your systems and keep you healthy.

Body brushing helps to improve the appearance of your skin. It does this by removing dead skin cells to improve texture and increase your blood flow which tightens the skin. Within a couple of months of using a body brush, you’ll see some great results so stick at it!

How to use:

We recommend buying a natural body brush rather than one made out of synthetic materials. Ensure the bristles on your brush are firm and choose a brush with a long handle to make reaching around your body easier.

Please be aware that you shouldn’t use a body brush on skin that is damaged, sensitive or delicate.

Use a body brush once a day before your shower or bath on dry skin. When using a body brush, it’s important to always brush towards the heart if you want to reap the benefits. Use long, smooth strokes, starting at the soles of your feet and working your way up the body.

Once you’ve finished body brushing, follow-up with a natural moisturiser like our Body Butter, which is enriched with Shea Butter, Babassu and Grapefruit. If you have any problem areas like dry skin or stretch marks, try massaging some Rosehip Oil into your skin too.
