Who else is harnessing the mantra ‘New year, new me’?
The start of the new year is when we plan to make major transformations in our lives…but let’s face it, hitting the gym, eating healthier and cutting out sweet treats isn’t a walk in the park!
This year, why not lock down a few realistic beauty resolutions instead? It’s time to stop committing #SkinSins (trust us, your skin will thank you). Here’s how to take your beauty regime up a notch:
Resolution #1 - Cut the chemicals
We’re firm believers that the fruits of nature harness all the nutrients your skin needs, so why add in unnecessary chemicals and other nasties?
If you find it difficult to work out which ingredients you should be looking to incorporate in your routine and which you should avoid, just think: if it would cause you harm to eat it, you probably shouldn’t put it on your skin either!
Instead, look for moisturisers such as plant oils, exfoliators such as crushed bamboo and skin soothers such as aloe vera.
Resolution #2- Clean your makeup brushes
We recently discovered a study that showed a large amount of makeup users never wash their brushes. We get it - between juggling housework, work, looking after loved ones and squeezing in some time for yourself, washing your makeup brushes is something that’s easily put on the back burner.
Think about it. You wash your face every day but are happy to use filthy bacteria-ridden brushes on your freshly-cleansed skin…doesn’t make sense, does it?
