How soon after surgery should I start using it?
You can use it as soon as any open wound is healed, and after you’ve had any stitches removed.
Are all rosehip oils the same?
No, the rosehips from different species of rose have been found to contain different levels of Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs).
Rosa affinis rubiginosa (Rosa Mosqueta) is enriched with higher levels of Gamma Linoleic Acid (G.L.A) than Rosa canaan, but is lower in Omega 3 fats. It also contains an important nutrient called trans-retinoic acid. Find out more about our rosehip oil.
Is it safe to use on my children’s skin?
Yes. Because it’s free from any additives or chemicals, Rio Rosa Mosqueta is safe to use on children and babies.
We always advise to do a test patch first. Just apply a small drop of oil to the elbow or back of the hand and leave it for 24hrs to check there’s no allergic reaction before using all over the skin.
Is it safe to use during pregnancy?
All of our topical products are safe to use during pregnancy, but the Rosehip Oil capsules should not be used without consent from a doctor.
Top tip: Our Pure Chilean Rosehip Seed Oil is great for helping to reduce stretch marks!
If it’s made from a rose, why doesn’t it smell of roses?
Because it’s pressed from the hips of the rose, not from the petals which carry the perfume. So it smells a lot like other naturally occurring fats.
Although it’s rich in essential fats, it’s not an ‘essential oil’ like the ones used in aromatherapy, which are made from the petals of the flower.
Can I use the Day & Night Cream with the oil?
Yes, it’s specially formulated to use at the same time as the oil. We recommend applying the rosehip oil first, then, when this is fully absorbed, apply the cream.
Are your creams and oils safe to use if I have eczema?
We wouldn’t recommend using them on live eczema. But you can use the pure rosehip oil once irritation has subsided and only dry skin remains.
What would you recommend to treat scars?
Our pure rosehip seed oil has over a 90% success rate for repairing skin and fading scars. For best results, we recommend gently massaging it into the skin 2 to 3 times a day, as massage alerts the skin to repair.
Are your skincare products tested on animals?
No. We’re staunchly against animal cruelty, and promote a strictly no animal testing policy.
Are your skincare products suitable for vegans?
All our skincare products except for the Rosehip Seed Oil Capsules are 100% suitable for vegans, and carry the vegan-friendly quality mark.
